My name is Jacob, and I’ve been chasing life’s little luxuries all my life! Relative Luxury began its life back in 2017 – when I was working in my first role out of university.
I’d been content writing for an outdoor clothing brand, and realised that writing about the things that inspired me was a great way to escape the day to day stresses of life.
I set up the blog to be all about those little experiences – and memorable trips that I was saving up for. It quickly became a way for me to find out about new places to explore, brands to try and ultimately gave me the inspiration to do something in my free time that helped me to celebrate the little things that meant the world to me.
Over the last few years, I’ve been slowly building the blog – writing on everything from new year’s resolutions, to gift guides for those who love the finer things, but who are working on a much more restrictive budget.
Over the course of 2020, with a little more free time to myself, and finding myself needing a bit of an escape again – let’s be honest, it’s been a pretty tough year for all of us – I’ve been redesigning the site, and looking to provide more inspiration for average joe’s like me.
The Future of Relative Luxury
Over the next few months, I’ll be writing more about the things that really inspire me to write – from the world of menswear, travel, food and drink and more. I love to hear about new places, and discovering exciting new tastes and flavours from across the world. I’m also a big fan of seeing the latest trends and thinking about how I can get the look for less.
I’ll be hoping to work with some brands who have reached out to me over the next year – with some exciting giveaways and brand reviews – as well as continuing to write about the things that spark curiosity! I’m no expert when it comes to what I write, but I’m honest – and share the world of luxury from a slightly different angle to most bloggers.
