Work Experience

As much exposure to real-life business and business people as possible, is right at the heart of everything we do at the Enterprise Academy. As well as the weekly Enrichment Sessions at the Hub, all our Enterprise Academy students take part in a high quality month-long work experience programme. Only employers able to offer a structured and challenging placement are able to work with our students.

Here's what some of employer partners and students have had to say about their work experience placements:

"This placement is contributing to the organisation by providing a valuable resource at a very busy time. We are extremely pleased with the attitude and work ethos we have seen demonstrated and would not hesitate in providing a reference for Chris who has quickly become part of the team."
Kate Higgs, employer, Out & About

"Not only did the four groups we set a business challenge for come up with new marketing ideas and radical design concepts for our products, but we have been able to push forward our national and international marketing campaigns with the help of students on work placement who are fluent in other languages and are using their foreign language skills, interests and hobbies to target new clients. As a result of these experiences, we would be keen to offer aprenticeships to these students following this experience…"
Luke Gusman, employer, Sales Media Evolution

"From the first day of being at Sales Media Evolution, I was immediately required to use my intuativeness and contact international companies utilising my varied language skills. I love it here, I'm made to feel very welcome, and certainly feel like part of the team. It's not often an 18 year old looks forward to spending the week in the office!"
Christal Heath, Enterprise Academy student

Tom is helping with real tasks and delivering real value. He has been able to approach projects responsibly and complete them independently. At the same time we have also been able to give him some valuable perspectives regarding managing and marketing his own business. This should help Tom both start and continue his own business successfully. We are enjoying discussing technology and business. I look forward to working with Tom in future!'
Emma Jell and Steve Butterwork, employer, Suffolk Digital

James was an absolute pleasure to work with.  He was always punctual (even when we needed to meet at a Radio Studio at 7am), he was always polite when meeting clients and he was always wanting to understand business better.

James was flexible in his working arrangements and exemplary in his standard of work.  He mixed well with other members of staff and participated fully in every office activity.

The key difference with those in the entrepreneurship course is that they are self-motivated.  This is the difference between just ‘getting an education’ and wanting to succeed.

The calibre of the student who has worked with LimeSkills CIC for 1 month has been extremely high.  Katie has made a positive contribution to our business and she’ll be missed!
